Hannibal July 27, 1922 - Oct. 16, 2007
HANNIBAL Lillian I. Riepe, 85, of Hannibal, died peacefully Tuesday,
Oct. 16, 2007, at her home.
"Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Hannibal. The Rev. Michael Stoerger will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded following services and burial will be
at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of
arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the James
O'Donnell Funeral Home. There will also be another visitation from
9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. John's Lutheran
Church.
Mrs. Riepe was born July 27, 1922, in Hannibal to Adolphus Andrew and
Gertie Mae Dooley Crim.
She was previously married to Col. Charles L. Glascock Sr. in 1941,
and later married William B. Riepe on Sept. 19, 1946. They both
preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Charles L. Glascock (Alberta) of
Beardstown, Ill.; two daughters, Ann Lybarger of Raleigh, N.C., and
Linda Carter (David) of San Diego, Calif.; five sisters, Marie
Jefferson of St. Charles, Helen Creech of Hannibal, Jane Glover of
Columbia, Dorothy Heskett of Belleville, Ill., and Bonnie Holiday of
Frankford; grandchildren, Chance Glascock, Cynthia Haynes, Christopher
Lybarger and Lorin Marie Hayward (Elijah); and numerous nieces and
nephews, including a special niece, Judith Crim Allen of Hannibal.
Mrs. Riepe is also survived by many close friends that will deeply
miss her.
Mrs. Riepe worked as a senior sales director for Mary Kay cosmetics.
She was a member and served as past president of the Lady Elks, and
was a past officer of the Ladies Auxiliary for American Legion Post
No. 55. She loved to bowl, golf, visit with friends and family, and
spend time with her group at "Ladies Night Out." Her passion was her
career with Mary Kay Cosmetics having worked with the company since
1971. As a director with Mary Kay, she was awarded five vehicles and
received numerous awards during her 35 plus years, and was active with
the company until her passing. Mrs. Riepe was a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church since 1946, and served on the evangelism committee
there.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, in
care of James O'Donnell Funeral Home Inc.
Pallbearers will be Dale Hawkins, David Carter, Elijah Hayward, John
Kestner and Cecil Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Greenwell and Dr. Richard
Valuck."
