  Married: Article in "The Paducah Sun", Paducah, McCracken Co., KY: Ruth and Wendell Riepe Sunday, August 27, 2006 "METROPOLIS, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Riepe of Metropolis will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul®s Lutheran Church. All friends and relatives are invited. They couple requests no gifts. Mr. Riepe and the former Ruth Dieckman were married Sept. 26, 1936, in Metropolis, with F.M. Wells officiating. Their attendants were Vonda Goins, sister of the bride; and Paul Stegman. Mrs. Riepe is the daughter of the late John and Belle Dieckman. Mr. Riepe is the son of the late Reuben and Katye Riepe. They are the parents of six children: Clyde Riepe of Bandana, Ky.; Sue Skrine of Cicero; Jerry Riepe of Schiller Park; Darla Rivas of Kentwood, Mich.; the late Janet Kay Riepe; and the late Bobby Gene Riepe. They have eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild."
